Spring at British International School is always a time of lively emotions and memorable celebrations. This year was no different. We share with you our memories of the first month of spring.
On 15 March, the students of school №3 celebrated Maslenitsa not only in the Russian traditions — with pancakes — but also learned how this holiday week is celebrated in other countries. Divided into groups, the children held interesting masterclasses for their classmates, helping them to immerse themselves in the diversity of cultures represented at our school. They learned how to make origami like in Japan, paper flowers like in Kazakhstan and festive masks like in Hungary.
On 16 March we wrapped up Family Fun Days to celebrate the school’s 30th anniversary. The children enjoyed sports and team games, as well as masterclasses from professionals in filmmaking and rollerskating. Such days are always a great opportunity to spend time with the family, have fun and socialise with friends outside of the classroom.
On 21 March, School 5’s students performed a spring play based on K.I. Chukovsky's children's fairy tale «Fedorino Gore».
The students from the whole school took part in the performance and each child had a chance to show their acting talent. A modern and dynamic reading of the fairy tale, music, costumes and scenery immersed us in a unique atmosphere of magic.
