The curriculum follows the programme of study laid down by the English National Curriculum (2000) to meet the needs of our international school community.
Our school programme is presented in a nurturing and supportive environment and is designed to promote a sense of identity and belonging as well as instill in our children a life-long enthusiasm for learning.
We place a strong emphasis on English, Mathematics and Information, Communication Technology. Due stress is placed on speaking, listening, reading, writing and spelling. A broad mathematical experience meets the needs of children’s different abilities and maturities. Our ICT provision ensures a comprehensive curriculum coverage and our interactive whiteboards ensure the teachers are fully conversant with the most up to date resources. Our topic work reinforces the interrelated nature of knowledge and skills and includes many areas of the broader curriculum. Subjects are taught as part of the school’s commitment to a cross curricular approach and as discrete subjects where and when appropriate. Children entering our school are assessed and will receive English as an Additional Language tuition where appropriate. Russian Language tuition is provided from Year 1 – 6 and an additional foreign language tuition is available in Key Stage 2.
