Following the success of the Giving Tree at Christmas we have talked to the orphanage to find out if we could support any needs they have for the summer.
The orphanage has said they would be very grateful for donations of second hand boys and girls summer clothes and shoes. If you are preparing for Spring and are finding clothes and shoes that will no longer fit your children please could you consider donating them. Please place them in strong bags with a label indicating the age of the clothes. Please donate only clean, good quality, undamaged clothing.
The orphanage also has children who will leave them in the summer. If you are having a spring clean or getting ready to move away from Russia please could you also consider donating the following items:
1. Electric kettles
2. Irons
3 Pots/pans
4. Plates/cups/spoons/forks
5. Shampoo/soap
If you have any questions please speak to Jane Horne on 8 963 679 5906 (unit 1202) or Carrie Buettner on 8 919 108 9276
Thank you very much.
Jane Horne
Dear Parents
We need your help - please can you donate as many books as possible to support our book fair at the end of book week, Friday April 16th.
This year we would like to have a BIG finish to book week giving all the children the chance to buy books to enhance their reading enjoyment. In order to achieve this we need books, as many as possible. So please can you clean out your cupboards and donate all you can so that all the children, from 3 - 11, have something interesting to buy. Books in all languages are welcome!
There is a box in the school, and nursery receptions where books can be left. You can also leave your books with either Zwen Harbers (unit 2307), Tamsin Sandys (unit 2202) or Helma Hendrikx (unit 902). If you have any books for grown ups, (legal) DVDs, CDs and audio books that you would like out of the house, these can also be donated - again, all languages are very welcome!
Thank you for your support and donate your books today. If you have any questions, please contact Tamsin, tamsinsandys@yahoo.ie
Yours sincerely,
Tamsin Sands
The week proved a great success and all our children were enthusiastic participants! As you are aware we had a number of outside visitors throughout including:
1. Stars in the sky
2. Mad Science
3. Anur Foundation
4. Moscow Zoo
The children were thrilled with the range of experiences on offer and were very enthusiastic when preparing for their own experiments for our Open Morning last Friday. Thank you for all your support and encouragement which made the children's responses so successful. I would also like to thank all members of staff who contributed so much to ensure the Science Week 2010 was such a memorable experience for our children.
